About Cathedral

Cathedral is a Catholic, college preparatory school committed to educating and developing future leaders in an environment of academic, spiritual, and personalized excellence. Cathedral provides a sanctuary in which students can learn and grow. To assure personalized attention in the learning process, Cathedral has an average class size of 15. Cathedral students come from 22 communities in the Springfield area, and two countries worldwide. They follow a 6 period-a-day schedule in a 7-day rotation.

Results

100% of the class of 2013 graduated from Cathedral, 98% of whom will go on and matriculate at the college/university level, as well as serve our country, or do a post-graduate year at a prep school in order to play hockey at the college level the following year. Additionally, there are three AP scholars with distinction, one AP scholars with honors, 8 AP scholars, and National Merit Scholars-two letters of commendation 2012-2013

34% of our junior and senior classes are members of the National Honor Society, which requires a 3.6 cumulative GPA. In addition to excellent grades, students must meet “character” standards to become members of the NHS. Involvement in important community service and holding significant leadership roles are examples of the kind of character the NHS rewards

46% of Cathedral students are on its Honor Roll. 1st Honors requires a GPA of 4.0; 2nd Honors requires a GPA of 3.5

Monday through Friday 7:40 a.m. - 2:25 p.m.
Extended day program 2:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Faculty

There are 44 educators at Cathedral. 70% of them have been at Cathedral more than five years. 100% percent of the faculty and administration hold Bachelor’s Degrees, 61% hold a Master’s Degree and several other faculty members hold a CAGS or Doctoral Degree beyond their Master’s Degree.

$8,600 with parish sponsorship

5.5% discount for full tuition paid by June 30 of the prior year.

We are under contract, however not exclusive, with MBSDirect for the purchase of text books.

Accreditation

Cathedral High School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The current accreditation runs through 2023.
